LMDC Public Forum
Allocation of $50 Million in Settlement Funds
LMDC will hold a public forum to hear comments regarding potential projects to be supported with federal funds obtained through a settlement reached with Bovis Lendlease which made $50 million available for reallocation by LMDC (“Settlement Funds”). Members of the public are invited to share their ideas and comments with LMDC at this public forum.

The LMDC Board of Directors met on July 23, 2015 to adopt selection criteria to govern the allocation of the Settlement Funds and to review a Preliminary List of Proposed Projects. The LMDC Board has established a Settlement Funds Working Group to work with LMDC staff to evaluate all proposals received and comments thereon. The members of the Working Group will be present at the forum to hear directly from the community.
Anyone interested in speaking at the forum will be asked to register upon entry. Registration will be open from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Speakers will be given three minutes to present their idea or to comment on other ideas. Anyone interested in submitting a project funding idea must complete the LMDC Proposed Project Information Form on no more than two pages along with one optional letter size image (a third page).
Proposed Project Information Forms may be submitted either in advance of the Public Forum or at the Public Forum. Project sponsors who would like LMDC to make information about the project that they are proposing available for review on the LMDC website in advance of the Public Forum must submit their completed Proposed Project Information Form to LMDC no later than 5 pm, September 14, 2015.
LMDC asks that parties providing LMDC Proposed Project Information Forms at the meeting provide four copies of the forms when they register to speak. Copies will be distributed to the members of the Working Group along with a transcript of the forum to assist in the proposal review process. Parties who choose to submit Proposed Project Information Forms, without speaking, should also submit four copies. Speakers who wish only to comment on other proposals do not need to fill out Proposed Project Information forms.
Settlement Funds will be allocated only to projects that comply with all applicable federal requirements and guidelines governing the original congressional appropriations for the benefit of Lower Manhattan. LMDC activities and programs are funded through a Community Development Block Grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
