Westchester commuters now have a comfortable and convenient way to get to work in Lower Manhattan. New York Water Taxi has started a new commuter ferry service between Yonkers and Lower Manhattan's World Financial Center and Pier 11.
From Yonkers, the ferry ride will take 45 minutes to the World Financial Center (on the Hudson River) and 57 minutes to Pier 11 ((at the foot of Wall Street on the East River). The service will operate Monday through Friday.
Fares are $12 one way, $110 for a 10-trip book and $400 for a 40-trip book.
Parking for the Yonkers Pier is available at the Yonkers Parking Authority's Buena Vista Parking Garage on Main Street.
The service is run on New York Water Taxi's state-of-the-art 149-passenger boats equipped with wireless internet access, closed caption televisions and a café/bar to ensure quality and comfort.
This program is made possible by a grant from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, which is funded through Community Development Block Grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
