GRAMMY WINNER JOSHUA BELL AND PS 68 MUSIC STUDENTS KICK OFF THE THIRD ANNUAL DOWNTOWN RIVER TO RIVER FESTIVAL 2004

THE LARGEST FREE ARTS FESTIVAL IN NYC HISTORY BEGINS TODAY AND RUNS THROUGH SEPTEMBER IN LOWER MANHATTAN

On a sunny and bright afternoon Grammy winning violinist Joshua Bell led a group of aspiring elementary school students from PS 68 in a performance of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to kick off the Third Annual River to River Festival in Downtown's Battery Park today.

The festival is presented by American Express and runs through early September giving New York City residents and visitors a unique opportunity to sample almost 500 cultural events, including world class performances in music and dance free of charge in Lower Manhattan --- River to River

This year, the River to River Festival welcomes Branford Marsalis, along with Lyle Lovett, The Neville Brothers, American Ballet Theater, The Stills, Fountains of Wayne, Cecil Taylor, Roy Hargrove, The Joffrey Ballet, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, Savion Glover, Luciana Souza and Lilla Downs, and many, many more.
